Doug Barrick serves as the Town Manager of Rutherfordton, a role that provides him the opportunity to keep Rutherfordton a real minted original, through impacting the community with gold-standard service. Doug is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a Masters in Public Administration and an undergraduate degree in Community & Regional Planning. Prior to his time in Rutherfordton, he served as the Town Manager in Claremont,NC, and as a Project Manager with the Town of Cornelius. Doug has 19 years of Local Government experience and has led the development of the Purple Martin Greenway, Kiwanis Park, and Affordable Housing, among other improvements to the Town during his time in Rutherfordton. He has young 3 girls and calls Rutherfordton home as well. Doug pulls for the Mountaineers on Saturdays and the Panthers on Sundays.
