Mr. McDermott serves as the Head of Portfolio Management in the Build America Bureau where he is responsible for managing a portfolio of TIFIA and RRIF infrastructure loans made to public and private borrowers across the US. Prior to joining the Bureau, Mr. McDermott was Head of Municipal Securities for AIG Asset Management where he was responsible for a $25B portfolio of municipal bonds across the State, local, transportation, electric/water utility, healthcare, higher education, not for profit and project finance sectors. Mr. McDermott also assisted the London and Emerging Markets desks in underwriting potential investments in large infrastructure projects. Before AIG, Mr. McDermott was a Managing Director in Fitch Ratings’ Global Infrastructure and Project Finance Group where he was responsible for managing public and private ratings in the US Transportation and Social Infrastructure sectors. Mr. McDermott also worked on privately developed infrastructure projects in Latin America. Mr. McDermott began his career in Washington, DC where he worked at the US Office of Management and Budget.
