Dr. Shawn Wilson is a transformative leader with more than 25 years of experience in government and transportation. He joined WSP USA in February 2024 as senior vice president, focusing on agency administration and supporting business lines nationwide. Wilson previously served as secretary of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) and president of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), where he managed more than $10 billion over his career. At DOTD, he led a 4,200-member decentralized workforce with an annual budget exceeding $2.4 billion. His leadership introduced innovations in project finance and delivery, including two P3 revenue risk projects and the state’s first CMAR projects. In 2016, Wilson became the first African American to serve as AASHTO president in its 107-year history. He and his wife live in Lafayette and have two children and three grandchildren.
