Tim Matthews is a registered professional engineer and has 23 years of experience in the highway industry. Tim began his career at the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) in 2002 and has served in various roles, including program/project manager, design engineer, district preconstruction engineer, senior design-build engineer and state express lanes administrator. Tim is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Tim currently serves as the assistant P3 division director and P3 design build administrator for GDOT. He is responsible for oversight and coordination of the department’s P3/design-build program. Tim previously worked in higher education as an adjunct professor and guest lecturer and in the private transportation sector. Tim also served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS California (CGN 36) near Seattle, Washington. Tim resides in Atlanta with his wife and their two sons.
