Tracy Montross is managing director of government affairs at American Airlines, representing the airline with public sector partners across North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Kentucky, West Virginia and Tennessee. From 2011 to 2013, she served as chief of staff to Charlotte Mayors Anthony Foxx and Patsy Kinsey, supporting local, state and national initiatives, including planning for the 2012 Democratic National Convention. She began her public service career in 2005 as the Washington D.C. scheduler and then executive assistant for U.S. Sen. Max Baucus of Montana. Tracy holds a master’s in public administration from UNC Charlotte and a bachelor’s in political science and broadcast communications from Appalachian State. She has been recognized by the Charlotte Business Journal for Women in Business and 40 Under 40 honors. She serves on the boards of the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and UNC Charlotte Foundation. Tracy and her husband have two sons.
