Christine Laporte is the program manager of the Truist Foundation Western North Carolina Recovery and Resiliency Fund at the Center for Disaster Philanthropy. She supports equitable, community-led housing recovery, small business recovery and resilience initiatives in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Her professional life has toggled between philanthropy and practitioner roles in fields including conservation, Indigenous sovereignty and resource planning. Her expertise includes strategic, cross-disciplinary analysis and collaborative leadership. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, North Carolina, and earned a master’s degree from Yale University’s School of the Environment. Laporte resides in Asheville with her husband and son. Outside of work, she is passionate about immersion in nature, spending time with her horse and traveling with no set plans.
