Het Patel is one of the assistant directors in the City of Raleigh’s Department of Transportation, where he leads the Transit Division. He has been with the city since June 2019, working on the implementation of the Wake Bus Rapid Transit projects. Patel has experience in short- and long-range transportation planning, program development, stakeholder outreach and education, with a focus on innovation, sustainability, multimodal connectivity and transit-oriented development. He holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from Florida State University. Patel has been a certified planner through the American Planning Association since 2017.
